Salmon in the South West

The salmon are now everywhere along the west coast from Augusta to Busselton. Schools are large this year as well as the fish being around 6-8kg each. Many anglers have already caught up to 40 fish themselves ( mainly catch and release). They are such a fun fish to catch as they will nearly take any lure or bait and give a good fight when hooked up. Some really keen anglers have been going out on jetski’s, boats, paddle boards and kayaks to get a bit closer to the action.

Richter plugs have been the most popular lure and the good old mulie has proven time and time again as the best bait.
